Samantha and Eric’s story began with a simple swipe that quickly turned into something much more meaningful. Within a month, they both knew they had found something special.

Early on, Eric brought Samantha to his favorite place in the world—his lake house in Frankfort, Michigan on Crystal Lake. It has been a huge part of his life, with summers spent there since he was born. There was just one catch… Samantha had to pass the “lake test.” Thankfully, she did—haha. She quickly fell in love not only with Crystal Lake, but also with Eric’s friends and family—who know him best as “Franka.” Summers there have become especially meaningful, often spent with Eric’s parents—enjoying evenings on the patio with Larry’s signature martinis.

From that moment on, everything fell into place. Family means the world to them, and it’s been incredibly special to see Samantha’s loved ones embrace Eric—especially her brother Bob, her sister Brittany, and her parents, who all adore him.

Together, they’ve built a life in Chicago, where they moved in together in Bucktown nearly two years ago. They love their Chicago friends, trying new restaurants (Eric is a true culinary enthusiast) and spending cozy nights in—like finally watching the entire Lord of the Rings marathon together.

What Samantha thought was a trip to Maine to celebrate her 30th birthday with her sister and Eric turned into something even more unforgettable. Eric planned a thoughtful proposal the day before her birthday, with Brittany there to help keep the surprise and capture every moment. Having her sister by her side made it all the more special.

They feel incredibly lucky to have found each other and cannot wait to celebrate this next chapter surrounded by the people they love most.
